Man, yesterday was completely {awful|depressing. I mean, it just seemed like everything that could go wrong, did. First, I crashed my tea all over myself right before an important meeting. Then, I got stuck traffic that was just a parking lot of idiots. To top it all off, my battery exploded right when I needed to make an urgent call. I swear, yesterday was like one of those days where you just want to hide until it's over.

Perhaps today will be better.

At the deepest point of the barrel, you'll find what's left was thrown away. It's the reject, the worst of the worst. Here, get lucky. It's a risky venture, but sometimes the only place left to go.

It was a/an/the complete trainwreck/mess/fiasco. Everything that could go wrong/south/haywire did. Plans went out the window/up in smoke/down the drain and hopes were dashed like fragile glass/expensive china/delicate butterflies. It was a click here comedy of errors/a symphony of destruction/a masterclass in misfortune. Seriously, I've never seen anything like it/so bad/so utterly disastrous before.

• Someone/Something/Everything broke/spilled/caught fire
• We're/I am/You are all screwed/in trouble/hopelessly lost

Maybe tomorrow will be better, but right now, it's just a nightmare/a living hell/pure agony.
